And I'm Saying it AGAIN

I've said it before and I'll say it again:  Carolyn was not meant to be a first child.

She was meant to be a third child.

Because good grief, the child is a social butterfly.

And she lurves other kids.

Today one of her friends came over for a few hours.

I thought we would make rainbow cupcakes since Carolyn has been obsessed with a You Tube video on the subject for the last five months.

Worst. Idea. Ever.

Two 2-year-olds, cake mix, food coloring....

Horrible, horrible match.

However, watching them puzzle their way through it was hysterical.

The good news is that we got them done and they turned out OK even though I had to revoke all spoon privileges for both of them somewhere after blue and before yellow.

Here's what the morning looked like:

Doesn't this picture remind you of two old biddies?  In reality, I'm pretty sure Carolyn was trying to bargain for the little change purse Kate is holding.  She kept saying, "Kate, I think you want this one, don't you?  Because I need that one."

Before taking off down the hall, Carolyn turned to me and said, "Ok, now Kate and I have to go to Kroger.  You stay right here.  I'll be right back."  The shoes crack me up - she never shows interest in my shoes unless there are other kids around.  Then she thinks high heels are awesome.

And the rainbow cupcakes finished product.  Someone was a little heavy handed with the red food coloring (because half of the red part is actually orange.  It's just a really red version of orange).  It may have been me.  This cupcake is also missing all traces of green.  Hmmm...
