In a Week

This is Carolyn's new favorite play spot.  She is obsessed with the bowl from the mixer.

For some reason, Carolyn likes to put things up to her eyes - her pink lamb, her soft blanket, and yes, Husband's dirty socks.  She also carries the socks around in her mouth.  Like a dog.

We've been dealing with Carolyn's blistered hands from her run-in with the oven door last week.  And by "dealing with", I mean I've been fighting every urge I have to pop the giant blister on one of her fingers.  She ended up with blisters on all of her fingers and on her palm, but it doesn't seem to bother her at all.  About two days after the incident, I realized that all of my first aide administration was done on the wrong hand.  Assessment:  FAIL.

The rash on her face and neck has gotten better, but it's gotten worse on her arms and legs.  There it looks like she got in a giant fire ant bed.  Maybe she did and I just don't know it.

These tomatoes might as well be gold.  It's the only part of my garden that has been successful this year.  I'm so proud of them, I almost peed my pants when I showed them to husband.

And of course, a bumper crop of tomatoes can only mean one thing.  THIS:

A tomato, cheese, and lemon pepper sandwich.  Num, num, num.  It's like summer.  On a plate.  Or a cookie sheet.  Whatever.

Oh, and check out this awesomeness.  In order to get ready for a graduation party, I asked Husband to clean out the cooler that we smartly keep stored outside.  This is what we found when he opened it.  Our very own slug farm!  Slugs, just like ground squirrels are the bane of my existence.  Naturally, I did what any mature adult would do.  I stood there yelling, "Ewwwwww!!!  Gross!!  Ewwww!!!"  Then, I ran inside, got the salt, poured it on them, and watched them melt.  Note to self:  take the cooler full of melting slugs outside of the patio fence before attempting to spray them off with the water hose.  And for the peace of mind of those who came to the party, we threw this cooler out and bought a new one.
