I'm One of THOSE

I told Husband weeks ago that we were going to go down to Barnes and Noble at 12:01 on July 21, 2007 to get the new Harry Potter book. He told people at his job that he didn't think that it would happen since I can barely stay awake past 9:30 (and he's not exaggerating either).

Imagine his surprise AND mine, when this Saturday, we not only went to Barnes and Noble, but also to see the fifth Harry Potter MOVIE AGAIN at 10:00pm...that's right! 10 PM. We moved straight from the movie theater to the book store (actually, Husband moved....I kind of dragged), where we joined all manner of freaks (Husband compared it to a rock concert. He said, "Just because you're going to listen to music doesn't mean you have to dress like a weirdo") to line up for the book. Of course, we didn't get there until about 12:30, so most of the REAL freaks (including a boy who had brought a REAL LIVE SNAKE because he was representing Slytherin. Ok, stupid boy! YOU NEVER BRING A REAL LIVE SNAKE WITH YOU IN PUBLIC UNLESS YOU WORK AT THE ZOO) had already gotten their books and headed home for an all night read-a-thon.

I was the very last person in line at one register, right behind a girl with bright red hair (think "little-red-wagon-red", not Ron-Weasley-red") and a bearded boy (think "I'm-only-21-but-I-have-this-beard-to-try-to-look-smart-and-sophisticated") who were talking about the best book collections they had ever read....Eragon was listed among their top three...guess that effectively blows the "smart, sophisticated" look.

Husband and I got the book and promptly headed home to SLEEP. Sorry....guess I'm just not the kind of Harry Potter fan I thought I was.

Of course, we finished DID the book yesterday at 5PM after hours of taking turns reading outloud (I DID IT! I made husband into a Harry Potter fan!). Husband WAS NOT HAPPY because he proclaimed the last fight with Voldemort and Harry "wimpy". I thought it was fab, well-written, and action packed - the best out of all seven books. Although, I have to admit that I am VERY SAD that the books are finished. What am I supposed to do now??

I read harry potter in 4 minutes thanks to wikipedia. Now I also don't know what to do now. What next? I will have to check wikipedia for Eragon which was written by a kid - FYI- crazy.

GASP! SACRELIGIOUS! 4 minutes?? Harry Potter is a lifetime love/search/study. 4 minutes?? Seriously...that hurts my feelings!

And, I totally already watched the Eragon movie so I don't have to go to Wikipedia. Maybe I shouldn't have admited that...
