1. Note to self: Never again go grocery shopping on the day before Thanksgiving. The local grocery store was full to the gills of men who'd been sent for last minute items by their overworked wives. Lets face it, most men are clueless in a grocery store. They stand right in the middle of any given aisle, muttering to themselves about the difference between pumpkin pie spice and pumpkin spice. Look out, dude, you're in my way.
2. There were some good things about the grocery store, though. I was in the baby aisle when three little Mexican kids pushed my cart out of the way to get to something they needed. It didn't bother me too much, but it bothered their mother. She made them each apologize to me individually. Then, 2-3 minutes later, the little 8ish-year-old boy came back and said, "Ma'am, jour bebe shore ez bee-you-tiful."
3. There was also one of the above mentioned clueless men standing right in front of all of the potatoes. He asked me for cooking advice. I know! ME! Good thing I just happen to be a mashed potato connoisseur and was easily able to point him toward a proper potato variety choice.
4. It was cold enough to wear socks and pajama pants yesterday. I was thrilled. Carolyn and I took a nap together. I was wearing socks with giant, stuffed snowmen sewn on them. I'm pretty sure Grainne sent them to me a couple of years ago.
5. Texas A&M pulled out the win against Texas on Thanksgiving, much to Husband's delight. BYU, on the other hand, lost to Utah. Mostly because they were playing not to lose rather than playing to win. Their last second field goal was blocked. The final score was 17-16.
6. The Mousey One at work just walked by and in reference to the BYU loss, sang to me to the tune of You are Sixteen Going on Seventeen from The Sound of Music, "You got sixteen, couldn't make seventeen..."
7. When he was done singing, he handed me a Texas buckeye. He said I should put it in my pocket for good luck. I told him if the Texas buckeye brought me luck the way it brought the Longhorns luck, I didn't want it.
8. I told mom yesterday that we're going to have to put Carolyn in daycare starting next week. When she semi-freaked out, I told her that daycare was the only remaining option right now. She said she thought that instead of that, I ought to just quit my job and go on welfare.
9. I had way too much fun over the Thanksgiving break. I loved being home with Carolyn. And Husband. Although, Friday officially marked the beginning of the holiday buying season and as such, I've now become a retail widow. Husband has to work insane hours to get everything done at work before Christmas. I used to love the holidays. Now it's just an extra lot of time of me being alone.
10. And speaking of the holidays, our tree is not up. I'm not sure that it ever will be. With all the baby stuff, there's literally no where to put it. And, since Husband is working so much, I have to put everything up all by myself. What fun is that?

Fan-Freakin'-Tastic
1. Husband watched Carolyn on Saturday so I could go to Harry Potter with Shannon, Marshall, and their friend, Nichole. It was weird to be at a movie with someone other than Husband - no hand to hold, and no popcorn to steal (because as he'll tell you, I never want popcorn until he has some). Either way, I really enjoyed the movie. I mean, other than the fact that some of the camera effects made me dizzy, reminding me that I'm getting old. And, I really, really missed Hogwarts. Oh, and I'm pretty sure I grabbed Shannon when the snake came out of the old woman. I'm sure Shannon enjoyed it.
2. I had a friend ask for a massage this weekend. It was almost like Christmas for me. I pulled out my table, sheets, heating pad, and best lotion. I love the feeling of knotted muscles under my fingers. It always amazes me how the body protects itself, how the body works. I'm the Stevie Wonder of massages, I like to close my eyes and feel how the muscles (especially those in the upper back and neck) come together. I know that all sounds really creepy, but I promise it's not. At least I don't think it is. Is it?? Crap.
3. It never ceases to amaze me how long some people will wait for a parking space. At the grocery store on Saturday, I had an entire cart of groceries to unload when a car stopped right behind me to wait. I swear, it must have taken me ten minutes to get everything in the trunk and the cart back to the cart rack. They waited the entire time, honking when I made the move to take the cart back. Seriously?? In that amount of time, they could have been half-way done with their shopping.
4. Husband made bacon wrapped shrimp and dirty rice for dinner last night. It was gorgeous.
5. I had the most luscious dream this weekend - me with a flat, non-stretch marked tummy. I was quite upset when I woke up and it wasn't true.
6. The Tummy Toucher told me the other day that if you have an account at a certain credit union, they are giving out $1,000 loans, no questions asked. When I asked it what the interest rate is and when she has to pay it back, she had no idea. And people wonder why there are so many defaulted loans and why America's in a financial crisis.
7. We didn't go to church yesterday. I woke up smack-dab in the middle of another panic attack regarding putting Carolyn in daycare. Chest pain, stomach cramps, etc. I need some peace of mind or else I'm going to go nuts.
8. And speaking of daycare, I went to visit another daycare center on Friday night. It made the first daycare look like a luxury hotel. This one looks like an insane asylum.
9. We bought our turkey on Saturday. It's thawing in the fridge. Husband looked up the recipe last night. Ugh. I can hardly wait. That turkey is the most delicious thing on the whole damn planet.
10. Carolyn will meet her Grandpa for the first time this week. He's so lucky to get to meet her now - she's really getting to be so much fun.
