This is What You Do When You're Sick

And, since my first foray into the crocheting world was a total, complete success (I mean other than the fact that I did it wrong), I downloaded a second pattern

I tried to take what I learned on my first hat and apply it to making a second.

Unfortunately, I totally forgot about half of the stuff I learned because my brain was clouded with massive amounts of snot, so...

Anyway, The Kid took off with the crochet hook I was supposed to use and after twenty minutes of tearing the house apart looking for it, I just decided to use the one she hadn't taken.

Naturally, that made the pattern all wonky and I kept having to add in stitches here and there to make the hat normal looking (I also think I stitch pretty tight - it's the only way I know how).

Also, I still haven't figured out how to turn the crochet and keep on going.  That's why the beak looks funny.

Oh, and if anyone else has a more willing model, please send them over to my house.

at least you can crochet when you're sick. I've had snot plus 102 temp for the past week. Have done nothing but sleep and drink fluids and watch Grey's Anatomy---which makes me sound a bit like an unemployed loser, which I am not.

Nice job, Erin! Also, good use of the word "foray"--totally had to look it up. ;-)

I've know I've already said this, but I absolutely LOVE this hat! I'm so impressed that you learned how to make these in like a day! You are one talented chicka. Cant wait to have a signature ENPeters hat!
