I Would Like to Thank the Academy...

Krista, a bloggy friend, has nominated me for an award.

Krista and I have never met in person, but when I was struggling being a mom in the first few months of Carolyn's life, she wrote the most beautiful and sensible post on being a mother.  I bawled when I read it, and often go back to re-read it so convince myself I'm not a total, raving lunatic.  Plus, when you see Krista's picture, you will see that she's easily one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen.  Seriously.  Thanks for everything, Krista!  You're a doll!

This time it's the Cherry on Top Award:

The rules for accepting this award (because there are always rules) are to list three things that I love about myself, share a picture of me, and nominate five other blogs for this award. Here goes nothing:

1.  I love the way I was raised and the values I have because of it.  My parents tried very hard to do the very best they could by all of their kids.  I hope to raise my kids the same way - to teach them how to work, to value money, and to be self-sufficient with a little common sense.

2.  I love that I can pretty much find humor in any situation.  Because of it, I have been labeled irreverent by some people (AKA dad), but really, if I can't find anything funny, I know I shouldn't be there.

3.  I love that I'm a country girl at heart - I will never feel fully comfortable living in the city.  I like open spaces, animals, and breathing country air (it smells different, I don't care what anyone else says).

Here's the most recent picture of me:

No, I'm not pregnant again.  This is from the last time - and honestly the most recent picture of myself.  I'm not too keen on stepping on front of the camera looking like I do now - we're still working on the baby flab.

And now, five blogs:

1.  Jenn - one of my fave friends from college.
2.  Natalie - another blogging friend who loves BYU just as much as I do!
3.  Stephanie - this lady happens to be my sister-in-law!
4.  Brigit - we went to high school together - and she's got the cutest kids EVER.
5.  Shannon - one of my very good friends

Aww. Thank you Erin! Those were such kind words. Another reason why I felt that you deserved the award. And you are so welcome! I enjoy reading about how Carolyn is growing and how things are going for you. Keep it coming!
