In fact, lately, I'm lucky if I brush my hair once a week.
But, if there's one thing I love to do, it's paint my fingernails.
Becoming a massage therapist, I had to give up both long fingernails and painted fingernails.
I mean, who really wants to be jabbed in the neck by a nail during a massage?
Not this girl.
But now, there's this new thing.
Well, maybe not new, because I'm usually 2-3 years behind the beauty trends, but it's new to me.
Shellac.
It's nail varnish that they bake onto your nails.
It's supposed to last 2-3 weeks and not ruin your nail.
In the interest of taking one for the team, The Owner's Brother Shellaced my nails this morning.
The Owner's Brother is totally a certified nail tech.
And if you act like you don't believe him, he'll take you to his station and pull out his license, put it right in your face and say, "See! I go school!"
Anyway, here's what the Shellac looks like (this color is "hooker red", my very favorite nail polish color of all time):
Please excuse my chubby fingers and lack of a manicure - I opted to not get my cuticles done because I didn't think they were that bad. Apparently I was wrong.
This picture is less about the fingernails and more about showcasing my extra, super buff hand muscles. Aren't they beefy?
I'll let you know if the Shellac is really all it claims to be.
