It's been decided.
We're going to swaddle Carolyn until she turns twelve.
The last three days of trying to work her out of the swaddle have been pure hell.
Three straight nights of waking up at 3:30 and not wanting to go back to sleep.
Then we have a cranky baby all day long.
And a cranky mother, too.
Last night I swaddled her arms down tight again.
It bought me an extra hour-and-a-half of sleep.
And, even after she woke up to eat at 5, she went straight back to sleep.
She was still sleeping when I left for work at 7:30.
I think she may be going through another growth spurt.
Yesterday, she took three naps and was rubbing her eyes again by about 6:15.
She acts like she's starving all the time.
Last night she downed four tablespoons of cereal and a six ounce bottle and then gave me the evil eye - as if I was holding out on her.
When I get my next baby, I'm going to order one that has a screen inserted on her back - one that states exactly what's wrong with her when she cries, beeps when it's time for her nap, lights up when she needs to be changed, and has a reading on exactly how much I should feed her of what at any given time.

Ha ha--wouldn't it be great if they came with crying translation devices--so true! I picked your blog for my group of Stylish Blog Award recipients. Check it out here--http://roadtheory.blogspot.com/2011/01/happy-new-year-and-award.html
That. Would. Be. AWESOME!
We swaddled my second son until he was nearly (if not more than) 6 months old. He was a fussy sleeper too. I say go for it! If not for her, then for you sanity and more sleep!
What the heck is "swaddling"?
Brendan - this is swaddling - http://enpeters.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-wasnt-kidding.html
Of course, most people just use a blanket, but my baby is an escape artist so we had to get a swaddling blanket. It's basically just to keep them from flailing their arms and to make them feel safe and secure. It works like a charm, especially for coliky babies.
