Rush the Gush

I said the other day that I'd like to run a 5K again.

And guess what!  The Gusher 5K is just a few weeks away!

As such, I am now taking applications for a training partner(s).

There will be requirements.

I am looking for the following:

1.  Someone who hasn't exercised in at least a year.  If you're a little chubby, all the better.

2.  Someone who is willing to adhere to this program.

3.  Someone who doesn' t mind occasional cross-training consisting of Just Dance on the Wii.

4.  Someone who thinks I look good in my Spankies.  Hey, gotta combat that thigh chub-rub somehow.

5.  Someone who isn't Flaky McFlakerson.

6.  Someone who is willing to start the Monday after Christmas (I can train during the day for the first week, then I will have to switch to a night schedule for a few weeks).

7.  Someone who will train outside - I have no gym membership.

8.  Someone who will only miss training sessions under the following conditions:
         a.  You are sick.
         b.  Your child is sick.
         c.  You are having childcare issues.
         d.  KISS is playing at Ford Arena.

In return, I will provide the following:

1.  I am willing to be the time Nazi as well as the when-to-run and when-to-walk Nazi.
2.  I will drive you to the race.
3.  I will turn my head if you have to farmer blow your nose.
4.  I will have special t-shirts made up to document our awesomeness.
5.  Number four might be a lie.

To apply, leave a comment here, Facebook me (that just sounds dirty), or email me.

And to sign up for the race, whether you'll be training with me or not, go here.  There's also a half-marathon and full marathon for all of those of you who are a little fruity (my half-marathon experience shall be documented at a later date)!

I could be an applicant. I haven't run for reals in oh about 2 years. However, I do have really short legs, so my stride may not work well with you. Hence the reason, Matt and I do not run together. And Hence the reason I haven't run in over 2 years. Just saying. Matt and I started that program over a year ago. We only made it 2 weeks I think. I'd love to try it again.

I wish I could do it, mainly because reading the requirements is so entertaining, I would love to see what the actual training sessions are like. Good luck!

oh crap... this is me "applying." I've been wanting to do the Gusher since last year but I realllly thought it was coming in May... not March. There goes my procrastination! Anyway, I'll try not to be Mrs. McFlakerson, but you have to be the time nazi. I tried that program before and just about killed myself tripping while trying to keep an eye on the clock instead of the ground. So yeah, Hiel Erin!
