I Wish I Had a Magic Wand

1.  I made the HUGE mistake of accompanying Husband to Best Buy on Saturday.  I always get in trouble when I go there - because it makes me think I need things.  Like has anyone seen the xBox Kinect in action?  It's awesome.  I need one.  In the past, I've kind of turned my nose up at all electronic book thingies.  I'm the kind of person who wants to hold a book in her hand.  Then, right inside the Best Buy door was a set up for the Kindle.  I stood there and played with it for at least 20 minutes.  Ugh.  I want one now.

2.  I drug Husband to the church Christmas party Saturday night.  While there I was studying all the other new mothers (there are about 1 bazillion) and noticed that  NOT ONE OF THEM has to carry a burp rag.  I constantly have a crusty burp rag either on my shoulder or in my hand.  And even at that, at least once a day, I end up with spit up all over my clothes.

3.  We stayed home from church yesterday.  Carolyn woke up with snot all over her face.  It's a good thing we didn't go, because Carolyn had an extremely fussy day.

4.  Husband relented and said I could bring home one of the wild work kitties if I promised they would stay outside.  One of the ladies here at work paid to have the mini black cat spayed Friday and I took her home that night.  I went out early Saturday morning to find that either she's escaped from her cage or one of my awesome neighbors had let her out.  She disappeared - I saw her from a distance Saturday night and haven't seen her since.  I'm pretty disappointed about it.

5.  We watched Inception with Marshall and Shannon.  It took all I had to stay awake.  Mostly because we started the movie at 9 and that's my bed time.  I know.  I'm an old lady.

6.  I don't know how this whole massage therapy thing is going to go.  I stopped by the spa on Friday night to let the owner know I was available to work the next day.  On Saturday, she called and asked if I was available - as if the conversation from the night before had never taken place.  I told her yes.  But, she never came up with any clients for me.  I might have to sign up somewhere else - somewhere that people actually remember that they've spoken to me.

7.  Last March, when I was five months pregnant and still puking my guts out, there was a race here on campus - a 5K, half-marathon, and marathon.  I promised myself that next year I would at least run the 5K.  Well, I saw a sign for the race yesterday - it's 2.5 months away and I can barely run from my house to the mailbox.  Here's the deal - I'd still like to run it, but I have no access to the gym and by the time I get home at night, it's dark.  I'm always scared I'm going to get knifed.  Does anyone know anywhere in Beaumont where it's safe to walk/run at night?

8.  Husband's last final is today.  I'm so excited for school to be off his plate - work for him is so busy this time of year.  Fingers crossed that this eliminates at least some of his stress.

9.  I am mourning two things:  the close of college football regular season and the end of this season of The Amazing Race.  But, is anyone else as excited as I am for the "all star" season that's coming up in February?  The cowboys are coming back!  And the Globetrotters!  My faves!

10.  The Beaumont weather is all wonky.  Saturday it was 70 degrees.  Yesterday it was 50.  By Wednesday it should be in the 70's again.  Then, back into the 50's for the weekend.  I don't get it.  And it's making my nose runny.

When you come to Utah next time, I will be selfless and let you give me a massage.

I'm excited about the Amazing Race, too! Ditto on the Cowboys. I also like Kevin and his dad from this past season. Andy saw the pink girls, TV hosts and said, "Not them again."

My mom wants you to know that her youngest son "projectile vomited" across the room after every feeding and he turned out all right. ;)

I had 5 "spitters" and never left home without several spit up diapers. I still have a stack of about 20 that I keep around for when Tommy gets a cold (it saves a ton in Kleenex). When the babies started crawling we went through gallons of Resolve carpet cleaner getting all the spots off the carpet. Yum.
