Scream Fest

Last night we had our very first all night scream fest.

I held her backward, forward, sideways, rocked her, changed her, fed her (twice), walked her, cuddled her, dosed her up on Mylicon, put her down, picked her back up, gave her her binkie, wrapped her up, massaged her tummy, bicycled her legs...

Nothing worked.

NOTHING.

Just when she'd quiet down, I'd set her down, and she'd start again.

Nine-thirty pm until five am.

I almost lost it at four, after the second feeding.

Every move I made sent pain burning down my still-very-sore c-sectioned tummy (I still have to sleep on the couch because I can't get in and out of bed).

I held her on my chest and started crying myself, "Please stop crying.  Please.  I don't know what else to do."

Then mom came downstairs.

And held her close for five minutes.

She zonked out.

It was like magic.

The Judy is a witch, afterall.

Oh no Erin! That is a bad night! I hope it gets better!! Lucy had several fits like that but has gotten better as she's getting older. I'll pray she grows out of it for you :)

Doesn't that drive you bonkers???? ;) I am glad the Judy is there to help out though.

I'm so sorry! That is so miserable! Babies sense stress, and react to it the best they know how--screaming--which of course makes us more stressed to which they scream even more. It's always good to have someone to take over for us who isn't so stressed by the situation! Yeah for moms! Isn't wonderful we have them. Good luck! I promise things will get easier. I promise!

I'm so glad you've had your sis-in-law and now your mom there to help! Do you have a swing? Not all babies like them, but it was my salvation at night. :) Can't wait to see your sweet baby!

Oh Erin! I am so sorry. Nights like at SUCK (especially with your first)! You don't know how many times I cried with Kaysen. Thank goodness your mom is there. They have the magic touch and the stress free feeling. It gets better (I know I say that every time but it does). I am also feel your pain with the whole c-section. It can take forever to feel like you are back to normal but you will get there.

Just like someone has already said, babies sense the stress. Unfortunately, it sucks bad for us! We just want them to sleep and be okay..but that stresses us out and makes it all worse...ugh...vicious cycle!

We had a few nights like those...it does get better! I promise!
