1. For the last week, I've been walking around thinking, "Good grief, I feel like I've gained 900 pounds. What gives?" Well, what gives is that the giant uterus has once again made it's appearance. At yesterday's appointment, I was measuring at 40 centimeters. FORTY? That means my uterus has protruded an extra four centimeters in the last week. And I've gained 2.5 pounds. Although, I'm pretty sure at least one pound of that is fluid retention in my toes. They look like Lil' Smokies.
2. I'm happy to report that I made it through the cervical exam - all by myself. I was going to make Husband go and stroke my hair, but in the end, I figured this was something I needed to take care of on my own. Bless the doctor's heart, he walked me through the entire thing and kept telling me what I good job I was doing. I still cried, but it wasn't the ugly cry.
3. I am dilated 1cm and 50% effaced. That means this baby should come sometime between today and September 2012.
4. My hips are D-O-N-E with this pregnancy. I literally limp around all day long - I assume it's because the ligaments are loosening.
5. The throwing up has returned with a vengeance. I was throwing up 2-3 times every week but this week has been super special. I threw up before I even made it out of the shower this morning.
6. Is there anything I absolutely have to have before the baby gets here? People keep asking me what I still need and I really have no idea.
7. You all know how I love to bust a move in front of the mirror every day when I'm getting ready. I was trying to think of what I reminded myself of...and finally came up with this.

So long as you have a crib, diapers, and wipes, you should be good to go! It looks like you're set in the clothes department. I hope it's over for you soon and that all goes well!!
Ditto the first comment. I had given all my baby stuff away after my 4th and then 7 years later we had Tommy so we had to re-buy everything. Ugh. I got just the very basic stuff -- crib, diapers, wipes, bedding, clothing, and car seat.
Not all babies love swings, but mine do. After the first night at home (without a swing since it had been given away) we made a special trip out to get that item. It was either buy the swing or hold the baby 24/7 -- tough call, I know.
If you really need to have a checklist of items to get, ask someone to make out a list for you that you can check off -- I don't trust the lists that places like Babies R Us have because they tell you to buy a billion things that you really don't need.
Is your mom and/or sister(s) coming out when the baby comes? I have to say I was so happy when one of my sisters came and cleaned my house, made meals, took lots of pictures, made me take naps, and just visited and empathized with me.
diapers, wipes, and a carseat for sure.
You technically don't even have to have a crib the first few weeks. Landon slept in his playpen next to our bed at first. It makes nighttime feedings much easier. When he was a month old, I put him in his crib.
Keep it simple Erin. Many moons ago when we had Chad, in Okinawa, there wasn't much money when your husband is a private in the army. Chad slept in the kitchen in a simple white crib that we bought at the PX. We had a simple seat (back in the day when you didn't put babies in car seats); so definitely get a car seat. Diapers, a few bottles, a bottle brush (no dishwasher), and a few outfits, couple of baby towels and washcloths.
We had this unbelievable Japanese washing machine that was maybe 3 feet long. You washed in one side of it and to the left was a spinner. Drop in a few clothes, let them spin, put them in laundry basket and repeat. When laundry basket was full, I climbed two sets of stairs to the roof to hang them up.
We were 10,000 miles from home; one meal from the Relief Society and we were on our own.
I know the words "the Lord will provide" might sound a little trite; but Erin, he will. Our experience in Okinawa--the Lord truly provided. Hope the see that little one of yours soon.
