Not Just Anyone Can Do It...

This morning The Planner came to me, asking me to type an order form for a purchase order.

Being that I'd never done one by myself, I asked what he wanted.

He said The Assistant said she was going to be permanently handing this duty over to me and I should learn "the protocol" ASAP.

This was the first I'd heard of it, but after eight months of working here, I thought, "Well, it's about time they're giving me something to do."

I went with The Planner to get direction from The Assistant.  It was apparently the first The Assistant had heard of it, too.

She looked at me and started rattling off the entire process, "You have to make a work order, followed by creating a job phase, then assigning the correct account..."

I just sat there until she finished with, "I mean, we don't want just anyone messing with the system.  You basically have to have a degree to figure it out."

A degree?!  CHECK!  I totally have one of those!  Finally!  A use for it!!

I said, "So, when do I start the training?"

The answer?

I don't.

The Assistant doesn't want me messing anything up (is this a recurring theme with my employers or what??)

Instead, I retreated back to my desk and ate no-bake cookies.

Because there's no way I could mess that up.

No-bake cookies are delicious.
