I'm Slobbering All Over Myself

I bought a turkey last night.

I'm pretty sure before it was killed and plucked, it was the Dolly Parton of turkeys.

It's a big-breasted 20 pounder.

Not that we need a 20 pounder, but it was just $4.25 with a $20 or more purchase and since I can't say no to a good deal, I picked it up.

Since that time I've been salivating.

Or maybe just over the crispy, beautiful turkey skin.

Good grief, I love the skin, wouldn't ya know, because it's the most delicious (meaning fattening) part of the bird.

The only thing is that we'll have the Irishmen for Turkey Day.

And they don't do spice.

Like they don't do spice even a little bit.

We don't want to burn their little Irish taste buds.

Is it selfish to do the Cajun turkey anyway and then purchase a rotisserie chicken just in case they can't eat it?

Please say no.  Please say no.  Please say no.

Plan B is a brined turkey.

Brine.

That's a funny word.

Good luck! I've only cooked a turkey once in my life.

Not selfish. Maybe they like spice but just don't know it yet. :)

My turkey is getting a nice massage with some compound butter this year. It worked last year and people are still talking about it. Let me know how yours turns out! I'm so excited to hear about it!
