Erin in the Hood

I got lost last night.

I thought I'd take a shortcut.

What I'd conveniently forgotten is that I am directionally challenged. At least I am in Texas where there are no mountains or other landmarks by which I can gain my bearings.

So, as I was driving through the hood, the only thing I could think about was how not to hit a pot hole and blow out one of my tires.

Because had I had to get out to change my tire, I'm sure I would have been knifed - the thugs here in Beaumont don't see the need to mess around with guns.

well, knives are probably easier to get than guns. maybe you should get a concealed weapon permit. your cousin karissa has one.

Nick was talking about taking the class you have to have in Texas to get a concealed weapon permit. We do have a hand gun down to our house. Of course, knowing me, I would be more likely to shoot myself than anyone who was coming after me - that is if I could get to the gun at all.

I guess there's only one option left - karate. If Chuck Norris can do it, so can I.
