Amazon Woman = PRIZE WOMAN

I just started reading a book about Emma Smith, wife of Joseph Smith, Jr., founder of our church in this dispensation. The first chapter goes through her lineage starting with her great, great grandparents.

When I got to the description of her mother, I had to stop and read it out loud to all the girls in the office, "As a young women, Elizabeth was a prize for any man, particularly one like Isaac Hale, who needed a wife to take into the wilderness. She was tall and well built and a frontiersman could see that her sons would probably inherit strong bodies fit for felling trees and plowing land."

All I could think was, "Show me a man that would say that now-a-days! YEAH BUDDY! Forget the fake tan, fake boobs, fake hair, fake nail types. Those girls can't lift 50 pound grain sacks! Those girls will produce wimpy, computer geek sons instead of the necessary ginormous ones! No, sir! Give me a REAL woman!"

I guess back then, Amazon Woman equaled GOOD WOMAN. Good thing Husband still thinks that way. And yes, sometime in the future (no, not the near future) I will be providing strapping sons...or daughters...someone's gotta keep the world full of "Prize Women" and tree-felling men.
