Rain Generation

I've always been a weather watcher. This is because I grew up with The Paul as my father - the weather dictates what he does, how he does it, and if he makes any money at it. I don't think he's ever gone an entire day without watching a weather cast.

Yesterday morning, due to thunder that was so powerful it was shaking the building, I pulled up the radar to find that there was no precipitation near us...no precipitation in the ENTIRE state of Texas, nothing in the Gulf, and nothing in Louisiana.

A half an hour later, it started to rain and it wasn't ordinary rain, it was a frog strangler. I pulled up the radar again and right over Beaumont was a bright red splotch and flashing next to it was a severe thunderstorm warning. The wind was blowing sheets of water across the parking lot.

WHAT?

Obviously I don't understand Texas weather patterns - or how weather is generated in general. WHERE ON EARTH DID THAT RAIN COME FROM?

Seriously. I'll never cease to be amazed and thrilled by Texas rain.

You watch the Bachelorette AND exercise at the same time? Man, you're good! I can't believe all that stuff happened to you while I wasn't able to check your blog. Sad, Sad, Sad. I hope there was some disease in your purse that those felons got. Any Salmonella tomatoes, perhaps? Texas weather is awesome. FYI, my mom, who is a Texan, just said, "I would hate Beaumont" and she LOVES Texas, believe me. Just go over to Austin for a weekend, and you'll discover why we love it so much. Trust me.
