Delicate Balance

I am a light sleeper. This means that sleeping is a very delicate balance - sleeping positions, pillow positions, ear plug positions (something that I have been introduced to since getting married), and Husband on the other side of a self-made pillow barrier. If any one of these things get out of whack, I toss and turn all night long.

This is why I am unclear why Husband frequently wants to switch sides of the bed. Ummm...NO!

On past occasions when I have tried to sleep on his side, I wake up and stay awake half the night trying to figure out why his side of the bed is sloped funny toward the middle (because he never actually sleeps on "his side", but rather closer to the middle - and that's ok because we have a king-size bed). He also insists on untucking his side of the top sheet, which consequently gets wrapped around my legs and causes major panic mid-slumber.

Husband knows all of this. He knows that I am cranky and miserable the entire day after I have to sleep in Nick-ville. And yet, once a week, he STILL wants to switch.

I don't get it. Perhaps he's a glutton for punishment...or he wants me to be.

How long have you been married? He still hasn't figured out that women are MUCH happier with at least 8 hours of continuous sleep?

I guess not, bless his heart. Looks like we will have to do a little re-training in that area.
