What Might Have Been

The Kid was supposed to have been a minion for Halloween.

But, as I've said before, the hat I ordered back in September never came.

And never came.

And never came.

Then I found this pattern on Pinterest.

Well...

After 73 hours of You Tube tutorials, I was pretty sure I could read the pattern and do all of the stitches.

I realized about halfway through that the "slip stitch" I was doing wasn't a slip stitch at all, but something I'd made up in my head.

Imagine that.

I realized 3/4 of the way through that I'd followed half of the pattern in one size and another half of the pattern in another size.

At the end, I managed to attach the minion eye slightly off center, so it's crooked.

Despite all of that, I'm super pleased with how it turned out (it only marginally looks like the picture from the pattern).

Mostly because three days ago, I didn't even think I could do it.
