The good news is that a couple of days in the hospital's pediatric unit does have it's perks.
Like this:
They let former, long-term patients paint some of the ceiling tiles. This one was my very favorite. If you happen to be up there for any reason, I would suggest going to the 4th floor to take a look.
This sweet room separating curtain:
So cute!
The best part was the lion:
Because it totally looks like something I'd draw. Take away the mane, add various ears, change colors, and this could be a cat, a dog, a cow, an elephant, a zebra, a horse. So versatile! And awesome! Don't the legs all in a row with the knobby knees crack you up?
And of course, my favorite room:
THE NOURISHMENT ROOM!
Stocked with guess what?!
That's right!
UNLIMITED JUICE!
Unlimited juice?! This party's gonna be off the chain!
Ten bonus points to anyone who can name the origination of that quote.
I'm pretty sure I drank at least sixteen of those little juices.
Had to get my money's worth, you know.
One of the nurses also baked fresh chocolate chip cookies at 5:30am Friday morning.
DE-LICIOUS.
And the very best thing?
Carolyn kept folding her arms, wanting to pray.
We must have prayed seventeen times last night.
I found it comforting.
When we'd finish, instead of saying "amen", she'd throw her arms up and yell, "ALL DONE!"

I was so sorry to hear that Carolyn was in the hospital. And I think Braydon and Carolyn have things backwards. She says all done at the end of her prayer..when Braydon was younger after you read him a book he would say amen.
UGH! This year so needs to end! Worst year ever!
I don't know about worst year ever...but I do know that from now on, I'm quitting each year mid-July. The last three years, July to December has been extra, super crappy.
Saw this today and thought of you.
"The Lord knows our bearing capacity, both as to coping and to comprehending, and He will not give us more to bear than we can manage at the moment, though to us it may seem otherwise. Just as no temptations will come to us from which we cannot escape or which we cannot bear, we will not be given more trials than we can sustain." ~Neal A Maxwell
I guess we should feel extremely blessed that the LORD knows how much we can handle and delights to show us how strong we really are.
