I Found It!

1.  I totally found the bottle of honey I bought at the farmer's market - the one I thought Carolyn had dropped.  It was tucked away in the lining of her stroller.  Apparently she didn't want anyone else to have it.

2.  Yesterday at church, a member of the Relief Society presidency announced that there would be a "baby making" class in two weeks.  What she actually meant is that there's a baby blanket making class.  Which is good, because good grief, I don't think the Mormons down here need any further instruction on how to make babies.

3.  How old is too old to shower with your kids?  Today Carolyn was in the bathroom when I finished my shower.  When I got out, she ran over and started running her finger down my stretch marks (which, by the way, are still a horrendous purple color...anyone who says they fade is a big, fat liar) and saying "Uh oh!  Uh oh!"

4.  At church I witnessed a single male getting the digits of a single female.  It seemed so foreign to me.  But, then I sort of wished that I could feel like that again - like someone thought I was attractive enough to want to take me out on a date.  The butterflies.  The swooning.  Later on in the afternoon, I asked Husband if maybe he wanted to pretend to ask for my phone number.  He just looked at me and said, "But I already have it."

5.  Here's the update on Husband for all the enquiring minds who want to know:  He has his final certification test scheduled for October 19th.  He should be able to start working after he passes it.  His wound is probably a week or so from being completely closed.  It's about bloody time, too, because dressing it everyday has caused a giant rash on his leg.  For the past five days, he's been managing his diabetes with his diet only (read: no medication at all).  He eats pretty much anything he wants minus the gallon of kool-aid he was drinking every day before he got sick and his sugars have been in the normal-low range.  In fact, I don't think they've gotten above 120 even with him eating chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies and cinnamon rolls.

6.  I was so grateful for the other mother at church yesterday who just let her baby crawl around the Relief Society room.  Of course, it led to a faceoff with Carolyn over her sippy cup.  It was an epic battle.  However, with Carolyn, being the biggest bully on the face of the planet, you don't have to wonder who won.

7.  I still have a residual cough from when I had pneumonia like three weeks ago.  Enough!

I think I am from the old school. Never showered with my kids.

We don't have a bathtub in our house and Cora is impossible to contain in the bathtub we bathed her in when she was smaller (we just set it in the bottom of the shower). So, we shower together every single time. When I get in the shower I just strip her down as well and close the bathroom door and she climbs in and out of the shower as she pleases and then when I am all done I wash her up. I don't have to worry about where she is at or what she is doing and she is as happy as can be to be in the shower. I guess she will continue showering with me until she is old enough to do it by herself or we add on to the house or move.
