1. I finally took Carolyn down to the pediatrician's office today. She's been sick with a snotty nose and a cough for going on four weeks. I kept thinking it was just a cold and it would go away.
2. She's now on antibiotics and cough/cold meds for kids.
3. When I went to the grocery store to fill her prescription, the pharmacy tech filled the wrong prescription for her. When I told her that I didn't think that the doctor had prescribed an adult antibiotic for my one-year-old, she just looked at me like I was an idiot who couldn't possibly know that.
4. Remember five weeks ago when my pediatrician told me that Carolyn's social and verbal skills are greatly retarded? And remember how bad I felt about it? Yeah, well today she said, "How old is Carolyn now? Eighteen months?" When I told her that Carolyn is only thirteen months, she was shocked. Only thirteen months? Her socialization is like an eighteen month old! Oh, and look at her wave bye-bye! She waves like an older child!
5. Verbally, Carolyn is still a clam. I'm pretty sure she says "bye", "go", "mama", "no no", and "night night", but I think you have to be her mother to differentiate between all of those.
6. So, anyway, while at the store, I was trying to open the trunk to get the groceries in when I turned around to find my shopping cart rolling across the parking lot with Carolyn still in it. I ran after it, shouting obscenities, while practicing my best traffic cop hands, trying to stop the truck that was coming toward us. Carolyn thought it was a great game and was giggling from start to finish.
7. The weather is GORGEOUS. I forced Husband to go to the park with us yesterday. Unfortunately, he waaaayyyy overdid it and today, is laid up in bed.
8. On a whim, we gave Carolyn a cup of grape juice the other day. I'm pretty sure she didn't breathe one time until it was all the way gone.
9. I discriminate against the grapes that are left in the bottom of the bag. If I can't pick them off the vine, I don't want them.
10. Husband, in a supreme display of manliness, fixed our vacuum cleaner a couple of days ago. It's a good thing, too, because this is the third vacuum cleaner we've owned since we've been married, and I'm pretty sure I would have gotten in trouble should need a fourth.
