Life According to Carolyn

Here's what Carolyn's been up to:

Carolyn always wants to be right in the middle of anything going on in the kitchen.  Unfortunately, holding her up to see what she wants to see is not conducive to getting things done.  So, out of necessity, this sweet stepping stool.

I'm kind of obsessed with Sonic's Happy Hour.  I stop every Tuesday to pick up a Route 44 drink for just over $1.  As you can see, Carolyn doesn't mind at all.  She might reach for the drink first thing when I come in the door...

Carolyn thinks my red shoes belong right here...on top of the cable box.  I move them back to the shoe pile at least twice a day and still, this is where they end up.

Carolyn has figured out all of the drawers and cupboards in the house.  As such, we officially can't find a single thing when we need it.  For instance, here's her tennis shoe in a kitchen drawer.  And below, her sippy cup in the garbage bag box.  Awesome.

And, of course, as always, she loves to help with the laundry.  She got herself into this predicament...and then wandered around the house bumping into stuff.

Other things she does:

*We got in trouble at the last doctor's appointment because Carolyn doesn't point to things (like dogs and cats) in the books we read.  We've been working on it nightly.  But, Carolyn still won't point to things.  Instead, she grabs my finger and helps me point to the things I'm asking her to point to.

*She is climbing, climbing, climbing.  It's driving me nuts.  She feels free to use anything in her path as a stepping stool.  That includes our legs, our stomachs, and our fat rolls.  Her feet feel like daggers.

*She will only eat off the floor or off of our plates.  She eats nothing on her own tray.

*She refuses to wear a bib.

*She tries to put everything in her hair.  This includes anything from barrettes to garbage.

*Anything that remotely looks like a telephone, she holds behind her head.  This includes my alarm clock, Husband's calculator, and any camera she can find.

I am so glad you are teaching her the way of proper sodas from Sonic!

Oh Erin, she is so cute! And normal! My son is 27 months old and he just really started pointing to things a few months ago. He ALWAYS wants me to do things for him, taking my hand and putting it on whatever he wants done. And he usually refuses to pick up his own spoon. I think that's my fault - I never let him feed himself because I'd rather spoonfeed him than clean up a mess.
Oh, and that BYU game was ridiculous! Good thing I went to the U also.
