Remember a few weeks ago when I took Carolyn to her one-year well-check and came home feeling like the worst parent in the world?
Like, I wasn't doing anything right.
Well, today my motherhood self-esteem was totally restored.
Because down to the WIC office, I'm basically freakin' Mother of the Year.
That's right.
I'm doing everything right:
1. I recognize that my baby needs to be fed.
2. I am aware that my one-year-old needs whole milk.
3. I know what the food pyramid is.
4. I realize that Baby's diaper needs changing.
5. Carolyn didn't cry when getting her finger pricked for the iron test.
6. And most importantly, Carolyn is still breathing.
See, motherhood really is all about perspective.
There was a chubby little Mexican kid at the WIC office named Manuel.
I thought Manuel was the cutest thing EVER.
At least until he walked over and socked Carolyn in the face.

That office does have a way of making me fill awesome about my mothering skills as well. There are always a few real winners in there...
I hope she socked him back.
