8/11/11

*Husband is getting better every day.
*Although, his wound is constantly sore and he is very, very tired.
*Now, it's just a waiting game.
*We have to wait until the wound is small enough to sew up.
*I'm pretty sure that will be sometime before the end of the year.

*He has been able to get up to take showers and to take some laps around the nurse's station.
*I wish the nurses would look up and clap for him.
*And for me.
*So I could wave like a queen in a parade.
*But they don't.  So I don't.

*They've disconnected his IV and only reconnect to give him antibiotics.
*Apparently he's peeing enough not to need the saline.
*Nurses are obsessed with pee.
*And poo, too.
*Just like boys ages 2-99.

*His sugars have been good for the past 2-3 days.
*Good enough that the endocrinologist said he could be discharged on "the cheap medicine".
*We don't know what that means, but perked right up at the word "cheap".

*My very favorite person at the hospital is Curtis.
*Curtis volunteers three days a week at the popcorn stand by the gift shop.
*He's old.

*I've been coming to the hospital every day for 13 days.
*I now confuse where I parked today with where I parked yesterday.
*I usually think the car has been stolen at least once a day.
*And then I freak out because I'll have to tell Husband his car is gone.
*And then I find the car.
