Glamour Shots Gone Wild - Blog Carnival

Oh, how I love people who provide me with things to do at work!  And I love it even more when it has something to do with making fun of other people!  Kristina over at Pulsipher Predilections is having a glamour shots festival!

I always wanted a glamour shot - Amy Brough got one when I was a freshman in high school and ohhhhhh was I green with envy.  She was wearing a pink feather boa.  I KNOW!  A FEATHER BOA!

Unfortunately, my mother wasn't quick to hop on the glamour shot bandwagon.  So instead, we created our own back behind the house (sorry the shot is so small - it gets blurry if I make it any larger - blast the early 90's and it's prehistoric technology!):

That's right!  My sister (on the left) and I put on our best brushpopper shirts and lace up ropers and posed the heck out of them.  True, it's no feather boa, but afterall, we were just simple country girls.  There's really no question as to how sexy the side lying pose is.  People see this picture and ask, "What were you thinking?"  Umm...isn't it obvious?  We were thinking of awesomeness

Assessment:  PASS.

And just as a bonus, I'm also including this sweet picture of us getting ready to work cows:

My sister's boyfriend at the time said we looked homeless.

This is as good as they get. I'm sure of it.

Nothing says "glamour" like rusted metal in the desert! :)

Haha. I love that you did your own. I don't think I even took a regular school picture that year.

ROPERS!! My college roommate's boyfriend would run and hide whenever I wore mine (I only had ONE PAIR). He said jeans with no back pockets creeped him out. I guess he wasn't a "butt" man, knowwhatImean?

I actually think both pics are adorable.

Just SO said...

You should totally go into business doing a Glamour Shots in the country.

And I totally agree with your assessment.

LOL! That's great. I particularly like the farm equipment in the foreground. I'm surprised my parents didn't do that! Oh, and you look really well dressed for working cattle. I'm guessing it's butt cold, too. Carhartt Coveralls = Serious Farm Work.

That's awesome! The side lying pose is something I often tried to perfect and never quite got the hang of.

Have you seen some of the poses at the kiosks at the Parkdale Mall? It's very entertaining.
