I'm sure you'll remember two months ago when Husband informed that boys don't ever think about baby names. And I'm sure you'll remember that he said he had no opinion on what we name our baby. Well, all of that was a lie because Husband has recently decided that he does have an opinion.
We're deadlocked.
Not deadlocked in the traditional sense of the word because Husband has offered me a deal. He says I can have carte blanche on naming this one as long as he gets the same on any son we may have.
While I really, really want to take the deal and then somehow find a loophole later, I know that Husband won't let me get away with it. He, for some reason, insists that I keep my word. And that means we'll have Nick, Jr. And that means every time I write my son's name, I'll have to use both a comma and a period. I don't think either of those belong in a name.
Anyway, one of the names I'm really high on at the present moment is Belle.
Husband asked how I would spell it.
B-E-L-L-E.
He wanted to be sure I didn't want to spell it B-E-L-L.
I told him that, no, I wouldn't spell it that way because that kind of bell is the "ding" kind of bell, and I don't want anyone to call our baby Ding Bell. That's what dad called the cows when they wouldn't do what he wanted.
Then he wanted to know what Belle means.
I told him it means "beautiful".
Then he said that before deciding on that name, we really should see what the baby looks like. Because what if she comes out and looks like a pig?
Good thinking, Husband.

Hahaha. This made me laugh out loud. And tell him he can't spell it Bell. Yeah, she'll be a ding dong.
According to my sister, if you want to get your way on naming the baby, wait to name her until just after you've given birth. After seeing what you went through, he'll most likely let you name her whatever you want! And in your case, with all that you've been going through already, you can add that to the discussion!
