We Have a Heartbeat!

The thing in my uterus has a heartbeat.

And the thing wasn't at all fond of that little doppler stick (or whatever it is) being placed on or around it's personal space.

The Doctor said my uterus is big enough for me to be 18 weeks pregnant.

Yes, I, to no one's surprise, have a very roomy uterus.

The Lentil was taking advantage of it by zooming from side to side each time they got a .012 second fix on the heartbeat.

He, much like his mother, apparently doesn't like being touched.

I was reading on babycenter.com today about what the heartbeat sounds like.  They compared it, rather dramatically, to a hoard of galloping horses.

Horses?

Mine sounded more like a galloping chicken.  Just one galloping chicken.

I wanted to shout at the nurse, "Could ya turn up that machine there, sister?  I'm having a hard time hearing the horses."

Then again, I didn't think she'd get it.

So I just listened to the chicken and thought about how glad I was that The Doctor told me I could drink at least one Dr. Pepper/day if it helps my headaches.

Congrats on hearing the heartbeat!! It's nice cause you realize that you are actually a host and it's not all in your head. You're going to be a great mom and I'm excited for you guys!!
On the caffeine...you are DEFINITELY allowed to drink it. I drank it with all my kids and see how great they turned out :)....don't answer that.
Or, Jill has NEVER touched the stuff...especially when pregnant...and look how WE turned out! She probably should have drank caffeine.... :)
