The Business End

1. Husband took me to see Up in 3D this weekend. I'm usually pretty picky when it comes to movies with talking dogs in it but they got the voices right this time. I almost peed my pants. I also loved the 3D. I was thinking that more movies should be made in 3D but then I was thinking about how much nudity there is in movies now-a-days and decided that I probably didn't want anyone's you-know-what flying at me.

2. Husband made the most delicious fried catfish sandwich yesterday for lunch. I ate it for lunch and dinner....and thought about it for a midnight snack.

3. The new favorite TV show at the Peters' household is Expedition Africa on the History Channel. It's these four explorers trekking across Tanzania following the path of Livingstone and Stanley from like 200 years ago. Or whenever. I could totally picture myself doing that. Except I don't really do snakes. Or wild animals that might drag me out of the tent in the middle of the night. Or no food. Or malaria. Other than that, count me in!

4. I still can't figure out why people at work can't figure anything out. Like why the fax machine is putting out copies with black streaks on them. Or why the copier is out of paper. Or why the air conditioner isn't working. And they all think that I know and that I should be responsible for fixing things when they mess them up. I want to throw something at their heads and shout, "GOOD GRIEF! THIS IS NOT HARD! THINK, PEOPLE!"

5. And speaking of that, we're still in the process of training The Fill-In Receptionist. I don't mean to be mean, but it would just be easier for me to go ahead and do her job as well. This morning she called in, unable to show up for work because her 12-year-old started her period (not for the first time) and can't handle it because she faints every time she sees blood. So....ummm...that means she's going to be gone one week a month because her child can't handle her own period? Beside that, she honestly can't figure things out. I'm already doing about 80% of her job and she can barely handle the 20% I'm not doing. I'm about to show her the business end of the back of my hand. If she calls me Sugar one more time... Sigh... If only The Doctor would have paid attention to me and hired the person I told him to hire.

6. I applied for the chiropractic assistant job on Thursday. Or at least I think I applied. When I got there with my resume the front desk told me they weren't hiring for a Massage Therapist, only an Athletic Trainer. I pulled the add out of my purse for them to make a copy of, but they still just looked at me like I was nuts.

If you didn't get the job, at least you applied. Nice work. I'm proud of you.

Uh oh. Maybe their current massage therapist doesn't know they're looking for a new massage therapist?

We took the kids to see Up a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, Elko doesn't have 3D capabilities, but it was still a great movie...probably would have scared them in 3D, but I would love to see it that way!
