Another List!

1. I rooted for the Utah football team last night for the first time in my life. I felt like I was doing something REALLY WRONG. They pulled it out against TCU in the final 2 minutes. Now all BYU has to do is beat Utah and it's a three way tie for the conference championship. For the tie-breaker, I suggest a massive game of boche ball - because I understand that Max Hall plays a mean game...even if he is kind of a dork.

2. I had a dream the other night that I got a new job as a dolphin wrangler. I had to catch dolphins that had jumped into people's swimming pools from the ocean. I also happened to look REALLY good in a swimming suit. I woke up wondering if I could really get that job because in the dream, it was AWESOME.

3. Today is the final step before I start school on Monday - I have to go this afternoon and write them a big, fat check. I'm not going to lie - I'm scared to death. I haven't studied anything in ten years and I'm scared I'll be the stupidest one in the class. And, I'm so excited to finally be doing something that I've wanted to do for years.

4. I bought my very first pair of scrubs the other day. There are limited numbers of people who look good in scrubs and unfortunately, I am not one of them. Now if only I had a sewing machine so I could hem them...

5. The Doctor is going to be back from Hawaii on Monday. I can't tell you how much time I've wasted just sitting at work doing NOTHING for the past week and a half. In the wise words of Clint Black, "Just killin' time...is killin' me....drinking myself blind....thinkin' I won't see". Except I haven't really drunk myself blind.

6. We keep getting calls from patients for Dr. Felix Spiegel, the premier lap band guy in this area. I keep having to assure people that no, we do not do lap band surgery nor weight loss counseling, but if they want to talk about Stephen Covey or C. Terry Warner, I can book them an appointment.

7. I'm thinking about starting an adult grammar class. I was wondering where on earth the people down here learned how to talk - then I realized it was from the local news where the newscasters actually use the words "hisself", "axed", and "ain't". Grandma Neff is rolling (more like spinning) in her grave over everyone who has neglected their English education.

8. Today marks seven years since I entered the MTC to go to Japan. Good gosh I'm getting old. I feel very disoriented with the passing of time and wish that everything would stop going by so fast.

9. I'm already counting down the days for the next time I will not have to come to work. Only three weeks until Thanksgiving!

10. I wish I had kids so I could still be pilfering their Halloween candy.

Erin, firstly, what are you going to school for???! So, so, exciting.

Also, what are you guys plans for Thanksgiving? You can totally come gorge with my family.

And, lastly, you're welcome to Gabi's Halloween candy. What are your favorites? I'll make you a bag and give it to you at church. It's coming out of my eyeballs.

Holli - It's massage therapy school. I'm just praying that I made the right decision and that it will lead to something bigger and better than my current (crappy) job.

Thanksgiving is going to be at Nick's sister's house, I think. What I know for sure is that it will include watching the Texas vs. Texas A&M football game.

And, I'm not ashamed to take Gabi's Halloween candy - I'll take any chocolate she's got. Butterfingers, kit kats, snickers, and whoppers are my very favorites.

You like whoppers????? I have a boatload of them sitting in Ashlyn's pumpkin that are on their way to you as we speak. I just need your address. I think you have nothing to worry about with school. You'll be a fantastic student again, and it will be over before you know it. I'm proud of you for taking that huge leap. You're the best.
