TGIF

1. My mouth still hurts from my trip to the dentist yesterday. It took a couple of Tylenol PM to get me to sleep and a handful of ibuprofen to get me to work. It's like being an old-lady-in-training.

2. Husband and I voted yesterday. I had THREE people ask me if I was a first time voter. I think this was because I was the only one in the entire line who actually had my voter registration card - not to mention the fact that I apparently still look like I'm 18. This is totally my third presidential election - the third one in which I didn't want to vote for either candidate. In the end, however, it was Husband they treated as a first time voter, taking five extra minutes to explain the voting machines to him.

3. The Doctor is out of town for the next week and a half. You would think that would mean that we would also get time off. WRONG. We get to sit in the office for eight hours in order to answer the non-ringing phone. We asked for a paid week off and The Doctor's Wife almost choked on her own tongue. We reduced the request to just one day. Still, you would have thought we had just suggested that she stand still voluntarily while we shoot poison darts at her head.

4. I have failed for the second consecutive year to convince Husband to dress up as Mr. Incredible for Halloween. Not that he can go to the Halloween party anyway - just like New Year's, he has to work until 9 tonight and be back at 8 tomorrow morning. I guess he's one of the only ones they can count on not to come in hungover.

5. I just did the Monster Mash right here at work. I think I deserve some candy.

6. In a desperate attempt at finding something to do yesterday, I cleaned out all of the drawers at work. The trashed items included FOUR broken Dictaphones, two broken pagers, and two broken mini-hand-held voice recorders. Ummm...I don't think we're going to need those. I'm scared now that The Doctor's Wife AKA the biggest pack rat I have ever known will come back next week and freak out. I'm seriously thinking about putting her on "Operation Clean House".

7. There's a new Dancing With The Stars Wii game out. I want it.

8. Everyone please send me your favorite turkey recipes. I bought a "practice turkey" for Husband last week. Yes, he is in charge of the turkey this year because mine last year was NOT NICE.

9. A friend of mine brought us dinner the other day. Bless her heart, it was just what I needed.

10. We just got a colonoscopy report that states that the patient has a "hiatus hernia". Now, I'm not exactly a medical genius, but I think the proper term is "hiatal". Unless they have a hernia that is currently taking a break. Maybe their hernia went to Hawaii with The Doctor.
