Evacuation Awesomeness: Eureka Springs, Arkansas

The mandatory evacuation order for Hurricane Ike led us to set our GPS and our wheels on a course toward Eureka Springs, Arkansas - the eclectic hippie capital of the entire world...also the home of Husband's daddy who is neither eclectic nor a hippie. Go figure.

It was the time of my life - cool, crisp, middle-of-the-Ozarks mountain air, Husband to myself 24-hours-a-day for five days, the biggest big cat refuge in the United States, and a refrigerator in our hotel room (thanks, Rodeway Inn)!

Here are just a few pictures of Eureka Springs - including buildings that have been there since the 1880's (and just in case you are wondering, there are no pictures of me...I love Husband to death but don't trust him with his own camera):

The ozarks are gorgeous! Glad you at least got to go somewhere fun and exciting...
