1. I have never been more disappointed in anything than I was in TS Edouard yesterday. Here I was thinking that it would be this great storm - instead it was WEENIE. It makes me think that the power people in Texas should talk to the power people in Nevada - we have winds stronger than that all the time at home and the power doesn't go out.
2. I just got an email from Cheeky talking about how she is being bullied by people at her job. All I can say is that I know EXACTLY how she feels. I had a run-in with one of my co-workers this week - one in a string of many. I constantly feel bullied by this person but in an effort to remain professional and non-combative (let's be completely honest - I don't even know how to be combative), I've pretty much kept it to myself. I thought I/we was/were too old to have to deal with situations like this anymore.
3. I've just realized why I'll never be really pretty - because it seems like a waste of time to spend 45 minutes on my hair, which is the amount of time a lady on TV recommended the other day. FORTY-FIVE MINUTES?? There are so many other things I could do with that amount of time.
4. I'm almost peeing my pants waiting for the Olympics to start...and when they're over, it's on to COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!
5. I have been trying to make a new recipe every week. The past few have been beyond horrendous. What's wrong with me that I can't tell the difference between a good one and a bad one?
6. The bug man just came to spray at the office...now there are bugs crawling ALL OVER ME. I thought the spray was supposed to kill the bugs, not give them bug-Prozac induced powers.
7. I can't tell you how excited I am that gas prices are falling. The grocery store had regular for $3.60 yesterday. I'm not an economic wizard, but I hope beyond hope that this means grocery prices will fall as well.

Erin, I just really love your blog. I had a really good laugh reading it. Thanks I needed the humor! You are awesome.
the secret to choosing a good recipe is always choosing something with bacon in it. it's a guaranteed winner every time. everyone needs a little vitamin p (that's pork, to the layperson).
One of them did have bacon in it. Of course, it was turkey bacon, which is surprisingly delicious despite the fact that it comes from a bird. The only really good part was the turkey bacon, in fact. Good thing I doubled the amount they called for therefore negated the "low calorie" status.
