Things That Seem Funny But Probably Aren't

  1. Husband and I have lived in the same apartment for a little over a year. When we moved in, it was such a nice place. Yet, somehow over the past year, "the hood" has slowly moved in around us. Currently our next to next door neighbor is cleaning his car with his stereo turned all the way up on a rap song where the only words are, "No, you ain't come to my house, no you ain't come to my house." It's shaking my back window. The kitchen window is also shaking because there seems to be a man in the front, also cleaning his car, also listening to rap music (which is kind of an oxymoron, if you ask me) at high enough decibles where I can't hear my own dishwasher. Awesome.
  2. Speaking of rap music, Husband had a guy quit his job last week to "work on his rap career". I thought it was hilarious until Husband said that he really is pretty good. Of course, I was not allowed to listen to his CD because he apparently only knows one word and it starts with "f". Can you call yourself an artist when your art sucks?
  3. I've injured myself at the gym. I don't know what happened but it feels like my heel is bruised (I am currently trying to self-diagnose). It's getting better slowly, but I've had to stay away from the gym for three days and limp around like a gimp. You would think that this would make people want to help me, but it doesn't.

There is an actual condition known as a heel bruise. Get some athletic tape, rip it in half longways and do a basketweave tape job on your heel to push the pad towards the medial side of your foot. And invest in new shoes with some good heel cushion. And ice it lots. You can get crutches if you want more attention...

I'm not going to lie, I have used crutches in the past to emphasize an injury that wasn't as bad as I made it out to be. Let me tell you, after one day of that, I wished I had just left it alone. My armpits huts so bad the next day, it really was worse than the original injury.

I don't think that my injury is bad enough to tape. It's all better now. I'm going to chalk it up to my super-human powers of healing. Do you think they'd let me be on "Heroes"?
