As I have already mentioned, the doctor that I work for LOVES popcorn. He loves it all day everyday. The receptionist here has taken on the responsibility of making a bag of popcorn 2-3 times a day.
When the receptionist isn't here and I have to do her job, it apparently becomes MY responsibility. The only problem is that I never actually remember to pop the popcorn. The doctor asks where the popcorn is and I tell him that he can't have it until after 10 am (because the smell makes me sick to my stomach) and after 10, I've forgotten all about my promise because I've gotten busy doing something else.
Today, when the doctor asked where his popcorn was, I took him into the kitchen and showed him how to pop microwave popcorn (and I'm not exaggerating when I say that he didn't know how). After I had showed him, I had to go over the steps again, just to make sure that he got it. Take the bag out of the plastic, put it in the microwave with the "this side up" showing, put three minutes on the timer, and press start. Finished.
You know what they say, "Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime." And, I believe they also say, "If you teach a doctor to make microwave popcorn, you won't ever have to do it again."
