Let's Go 'Stros

Saturday was another fabulous surprise from husband. We drove to Houston to go shopping for new shorts for me (to replace the overalls) and to get husband some new suits. Following those ventures (where husband was very patient with me and the new "looking for stuff" tendencies installed by Cheeky), we headed over to the ball park to take in an Astros game.

It was my first ever professional baseball game and would have been even better than it was had there not been sweat running down my back and face (see above picture...but look at my cute skirt!). Oh, and also, we sat by what we will call "the Astros Book of Facts" row of greasy men. They kept spewing facts like, "Yeah, well, he was called up from the farm leagues back in 1999. Did you know that he is the first Astro to play three different positions? Well, he is. I wonder when the beer man is coming around again."

Just as a side note here, I can't really know how people can afford to drink beer at baseball games. A single bottle of beer was $7. They searched all the ladies bags on the way in and husband said that it was probably more to make sure that we weren't smuggling in contraban bottled water more than looking for bombs or weapons....a bottle of water was $3.50. At that price, we might as well have ponied up for the beer and had a little fun.

Husband and I were forced to leave before the seventh inning because the Astros were killing the other team and also because we had both worked out that morning and we were SOOOO tired.

The highlight of the trip was eating a hot dog (which I normally would not eat because I know what they put in those things) at an actual baseball game. That is one thing that has been on my "to do" list for some time.

Cheers to husband and his patience...not to mention his creativity for coming up with so many fun surprises over the past two months. It's nice to know that you never know what could happen next.

Eri is SO happy! This is what happens when husband gets a hold of the camera.
