Fun With Wheat

Last night I went up to the "enrichment" meeting for the ladies at church. The title of the meeting was "Fun With Wheat". Now, I know what you're thinking because I was thinking the same thing, "FUN WITH WHEAT?? WHAT THE HELL KIND OF TITLE IS THAT?"
It turned out to be really fun learning about (and tasting) delicious foods that can be made with wheat (what you should know about Mormons is that we're big on emergency preparedness/food storage...this has escalated a step since all of the Mormons in this area are now preparing for hurricane season...what that means is that they've all bought wheat grinders and bags of wheat in case of emergency...then they can eat delicious wheat).

They had two different ladies demonstrate how to make wheat bread and then they let us taste it. SOOOOOO good. Then, we got to taste all of the other stuff that the other ladies brought...all of which was made from wheat flour (I didn't take anything because I didn't have time to make anything and also because I don't really have any wheat, wheat grinder, or wheat flour). There was one lady who made whole wheat chocolate cake, another who made whole wheat chocolate chip cookies and one who made whole wheat pancakes. It was a veritable feast of fiber-licious foods. DELICIOUS. I was very skeptical of the wheat cake but MMMMMMMMMM.

At the end of the night, I was trying to think how I could steal one of the already made loafs of bread so that I wouldn't have to spend two hours making my own. Turns out that I only made it out the door with half of a cookie and two TINY pieces of the chocolate cake (which I said I was taking for Nick, but which I ate this morning).
So now, I figure that I have to run out and buy bread pans so I can have DELICIOUS whole wheat bread at my house.
