Enough Already

Yesterday I started my new calling at church (for those who are not Mormon, that basically means a job that you are not paid for). They put me in a room with five, that's right FIVE 2-year-old boys.

They gave me a limited amount of toys, all of which made an amazing amount of noise, and told me that their mothers would come to pick them up when church was over. That means TWO hours of trying to entertain five little kids, none of whom I had ever met before. I literally had to sit up against the door to prevent them from escaping (although after 20 minutes, I was ready to pitch them out on their heads).

I crawled around on the floor in my dress and high heels, trying to prevent fights, pick up the ones who were crying, and trying to quarantine the one little boy who had messy pants half-way through.

What they didn't tell me was that after one hour, they were going to take me out of the toy room and put me in another room with NO toys. What on earth am I supposed to do with them then??

Anyway, I got through the two hours with no major scars and I did get to partake of their snack of delicious goldfish crackers. However, I don't think this calm is going to last long. Heaven help me. Literally.
