I know that people think that different things are beautiful. I also know that people think that different things sound nice. Now, having said that, I also have to say that I have some MAJOR problems with what other people think is beautiful. Before I moved to Texas, I would say that my problems were confined to the art and music industries only. However, it seems that southern people are creative in more ways than the rest of the world, putting most of their creativity into one thing that should NEVER be creative: the naming of their children.
Now I know that you don't want your child to have the same name as everyone and their dog. I get that, I really do. However, having heard some things that children are called now-a-days, I don't see anything wrong with John, David, Ann, and Jane. At least people know how to pronounce them AND spell them.
Let me give you a little taste of what I'm talking about. Since I really have nothing else to do and no where else to go, I spend an inordinate amount of time at the local Walmart. And, no one has weirder names than employees of the aforementioned store. Examples: NeeDonda (the sound you make when you sneeze), Ambrosia (a type of tapioca pudding), and Starlita (perhaps the inspiration for "Starla" on Napoleon Dynamite). At Target there is a woman named Toby (she always wears a long, khaki skirt to work).
So, I guess all I have to say is, "PARENTS! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?" It just goes to show that I really should be in charge of the world after all....or at least the naming of it's children.

I think you should name your children Teagan. That is normal and creative and only some (not many) dogs share the name. I had some awesome student names when I was in Houston. Dashannel, Shaniqua, Dominique, etc...
Seriously, I'm sticking to the old stand-bys of John and David. But if I did that, both of my uncles by those names would think that they were named after them...and we wouldn't want that, now would we??
