Well, my friends, another month, another opportunity to brag on my fiancee, who remains the most wonderful guy on the face of the earth. Seriously.
Nick came this past weekend after a nightmarish flight that got him into Salt Lake at 2 am. The next day, I dragged him to the paper store to buy stuff for wedding announcements. He waited patiently as I browsed the aisles several times in search of something that was "me" (because let's be honest, it's all about me...and just as a side note here, you should have seen some of the invitations. HORRIBLE. Who in their right mind would choose some of THOSE? I mean, it did stop short of the invitation that states, "Today I marry my best friend", but still...). Nick was sent different times to talk to the man at the counter about colors, paper, and printability. And never, not once did he complain or even roll his eyes...and in the end, he hefted the ginormous box to the car.
Later on in the weekend, I decided it was time to take engagement pictures. While Nick complained unceasingly before the actual day, he spent over an hour Sunday afternoon doing EVERYTHING that my sister, sister-in-law, mother, and I said in order to make the pictures go smoothly. He squatted, knelt, opened eyes, moved hands...and in between all of this, had to put up with me tugging on his shirt or physically tilting his head to where I wanted it. More than half of the time, I ended up giggling like a little kid, ruining the perfect picture that we had just set up. Needless to say, there were more bad ones than good ones.
And there was much, much more. He sat around and talked extensively to each member of my family. He went to Trunk or Treat and held hands with me even though I was dressed like a cow. He helped take down all of the decorations after my brother's wedding reception. He copied a church DVD for my mother. He went to a bale feeder demonstration for my dad's equipment shop. He bought me a PINK cell phone (complete with all the extras) so I wouldn't have to use my mom and dad's anymore.
I risk sounding sappy when I say that I am blessed to have finally found a man who can put up with me.
