As much as I complained in a previous post about traveling with mom and dad to Jackson Hole (where my sister-in-law's father owns an incredible cabin complete with sauna and steam shower) this past weekend, it really turned out to be a nice trip. I think that in the interest of time, I shall hit the highlights and put in some of my favorite pictures from the trip...highly unorganized but so much easier for me.
- No trip in the car is complete without mom wanting to sing songs in a round...this trip was no exception. Dad even joined in the action on "When It's Night Time in Nevada".
- Mom made a command decision to buy Oreos and milk, she neglected to buy cups. While this would be a problem for any other family, we quickly found an un-used Ziploc bag, a perfect milk holder, if you ask me.
- When I asked nephew, Karsen (age 3), if he wanted to sit by me during breakfast, he said, "No, because you make me very, very, very, very sick."
- On a hike back to the cabin, nephew Ethan (age 7) complained that it was just too far...so mom, being the kind, compassionate Grandma she is, offered to carry the feathers he had in his hand.
- A killer game of Yatzee, in which I finished fourth, which was at least NOT dead last.
- Enjoying the Jackson Hole wildlife, which consisted of a squirrel who would not eat my bread crumbs, which were to tantilize him to move closer so I could get a quality photo.
- Chats with all members of the fam in which we discussed the weirdnesses of our family...can't get much better than that. Turns out that no family is immune.
