What Went Wrong/Right

Ok, so now that it's been two weeks since the big wedding, I'm going to tell you about it. I mean, I'm not going to tell you about it, I'm going to write a list, as is typical of me:
  1. We flew Southwest from Houston to Salt Lake. I only got three hours of sleep the night before we left because all I could think about was everything that could go wrong. Turns out that I was right to do that...they lost our luggage. Yes, that's right, the day before we get married, our luggage is no where to be seen. Lucky for me, Nick stood in line for the entire hour and a half and patiently explained our situation to the nice lady at the desk. They brought it to our hotel that night at 11:30pm, about 30 seconds before I was going to break down and throw a tantrum.
  2. After traveling for hours, losing the luggage, having to drive in the snow, and nearly dying of sleep deprivation, I had to go shopping at Costco with my mom and dad for plates, cups, napkins, etc. for the little luncheon after the wedding. Nick took a nap. I guess it's only fair since he stood in line...
  3. The morning of the wedding, my cousin came to do my hair and makeup. While I'm sure that I looked nice, I haven't worn that much makeup/hairspray in my entire life COMBINED.
  4. The temperature outside was a brisk 18 degrees F...with a windchill of 10. The bag that the dress was in was frozen.
  5. We actually went to the temple and got married. That was the good part...everything went smoothly despite the fact that due to my hair and makeup session, we were 20 minutes late.
  6. We walked out of the temple only to find that our photographer hadn't shown up. I had to grab my sister and ask her to take the pictures...which we could only do for about 15 minutes before frostbite set in (and naturally, my dress was short-sleeved, which didn't make it any better). Bless Nick's heart for staying out there as long as he did. I think he very nearly froze his little Texan skin off.
  7. The luncheon after was very nice. My aunt's sister-in-law did the food. Costco did the cakes...and they didn't do them very well since they lost our order. So, there you go.
  8. The next day, we drove out to Ruby Valley for the reception out there. The reception was also very nice and I saw many people that I hadn't seen in years. The one bad thing: it was snowing, icy, and windy. As such, we stayed at my parent's house that night instead of driving back to our hotel 90 miles away to begin our honeymoon.
  9. Our honeymoon was basically one day at a getto hotel in Gavleston, Texas. The hotel was over the water, which was pretty cool. However, I did lose a sock behind the bed and going after it nearly made me throw up. Who knew that such gross things existed behind the bed in hotels??
  10. We came home to a nasty house...all of Nick's stuff had been thrown in the house by me just to get him moved out of his other apartment before we left. I almost cried when we walked in the door and had to face that.

So there you have it. Nick is now back to school and work and I'm looking for a job. I hate that. Our Texas reception is tonight. Hopefully there will be many present givers and no one who wants to talk to me!
