Last week I got an email from the VP. Yes, that's right, the same VP that was known as "The Village Pervert" in Japan. What did he send me? His flight schedule to come to Texas for my wedding reception here. WHAT?
He showed up basically without a plan, expecting me to take care of him on the day when I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done for the reception. He stayed at my house for the first night, whining and complaining about everything that came his way.
The next day, he woke up at 11am and insisted that I take him shopping for souvenirs when instead I had to pick up cakes, napkins, cups, etc. At the reception, he was very concerned about the lack of alcohol, refused to even TRY to talk to anyone else (they would walk up to him and try to engage him in a conversation and he would say, "I don't speak English" and just walk away). Instead, I kept having to try to find things for him to do so that he wouldn't follow me around. After the reception, he insisted on stopping for beer before I took him to his hotel despite the fact that I had the key to the apartment and my entire family was waiting for me to get there.
The next day, he decided that he wanted to go to NASA - 90 minutes away - and just assumed that I would be able to take him there despite the fact that I still had my family in town and had to go to church. We picked him up after church and brought him back to the house where he turned on a movie in ENGLISH and refused to talk to anyone in the entire room, including ME.
When we finally did get him out to NASA, he admitted that he had no hotel, no idea how to get to NASA, no idea how to get to the airport, etc. So, I spent another two hours rearranging his trip, his flights, his shuttles, etc because he didn't. In between all of this, he would just stand around and roll his eyes at me, not even trying to be remotely helpful.
In the end, I just wrote what I thought he would need on a piece of paper since he hadn't thought to bring an English dictionary, and left him at the hotel.
I've never had such a high-maintenance guest....EVER. And what I've written is just the beginning...I'm still a little bit angry about the rest of it. Needless to say, husband was not a fan and right now, neither am I. It makes me wonder: was I that horrible in Japan?? If so, I would like to repent RIGHT NOW.

Erin, Sorry about your guest. Don`t worry you weren`t like that when you visited Little America here in Northern Japan.
Maybe he was jealous?
Congratulations by the way.
From everyone here.
